"Wilson says that throughout the entire investigation, you were the only one of us who stuck by your principles, never wavered. He’s right, you know. Says what you did was admirable"
You've lost me here. Is it one of House's principles to refuse to apologize to patients he insulted and then sexually assaulted? Was it real honesty to steal Wilson's prescription pad and forge his name? Was he right to refuse to take responsibility for his actions? Was it the right thing to let Wilson take the blame and then abandon him?
If that's Wilson's role model, he's better off in prison.

Then House reaches across the table and grabs a handful of fries from Cuddy’s plate.

“That’s for Wilson,”

Perfect. I didn't know how you'd manage to work the food grab gag in, so this is perfect. Smart Wilson, writing to Cuddy. Smart Cuddy, taking away his cane. And finally, after a long time, smart House for listening for once in his life.

Excellent. I'm surprised at how plotted this has turned out to be. Funny how those one-shots sometimes evolve. :)

Wow, I've missed so much! So here I go... OMG! I can totally see this happening cannon. And the bit with the fries. That's House for, understanding.

Greetings!

"Then House reaches across the table and grabs a handful of fries from Cuddy’s plate.

“That’s for Wilson,” he tells her as he stalks off. Cuddy sees the small smile on his face, just before he turns to leave, and—for the first time—she’s beginning to believe that House and Wilson might just be all right."

Beautiful! Glad to know he's finally gotten the fire to get off his butt and go fight the good fight! Here's hoping it does some good.

Love Wilson telling Cuddy she owes him this one for all the times she's put him in 'harm's' way.

Wow - House put up w/Cuddy touching him like that? I'm impressed - would have expected him to jump right out of his skin - and that's if he was feeling charitable.

It seemed a bit too easy to me as well, but then, you're right - when it seems that easy, House is usually up to something. So, I shall just have to read further and find out. But not right now, alas....

Well, 'tis time for me to finish getting ready for tonight's business meeting. I will look forward to continuing this wonderful fic later. Thank you most kindly for providing a wonderful distraction from nerves and pain....

Pausing for now,
-Katrina
