Well, okay, had to grip the sides of the little table my laptop sits on as I was reading this while repeating to myself, she won't kill them, she won't kill them, I'm pretty sure she won't kill them.

Wonderful chapter- loved how in sync both of them are and how the one event eventually leads them both to the same conclusion- that they need each other. (Though I love the different viewpoints there- "He sighs in satisfaction; he’ll live", He...allows himself a frustrated sigh; screw it—he’ll live.)

An oddly hopeful chapter (considering they were both considering killing themselves at the beginning!) Thank you!

love the different viewpoints there-

didn't even realize, until you'd pointed it out, that they do, indeed, view living with their usual positive/negative attitudes!

Wow, you are v. evil. But that was great. XD

Would love to see more.

*smiles indulgently and wondering about next chapter*

YOU ARE EVIL.

Having said that, I think I love you. This story is amazing, and I think I almost had a heart attack while reading this chapter. I honestly thought for a minute or two that you were going to kill them both, or kill just one and leave the other to suffer.

Can't wait for the next installment!

You made me cry. I want House and Wilson to be reunited and I want that nasty little weasel Tritter to be stripped of his job on corruption charges and be thrown into jail. Our two boys need each other. House can be so vulnerable and his guilt here is tearing him apart. Wilson is such a loyal friend and he also feels terrible guilt. Please could we find a way to fix our boys and get Wilson out of jail?

find a way to fix our boys

omg. I love you. And this fic. And House and Wilson. I'm sorry and wish I could write you the coherent praising review that you deserve, but my brain's stuck on "their love is so bittersweet". ^________^

Hmm, maybe not the right time to ask, but I've been wondering, will there be a sequel to "The more things change..."?

will there be a sequel to "The more things change..."?

sigh... the inevitable question rears its ugly head..... oh yes; there will, indeed, be a sequel to 'tmtc' just as soon as i can pry house and wilson out of the Hourverse! :)

Eeeeeeek!

This is a wonderful chapter - even though it's very emotionally draining. It's obviously a big turning point for them, though; do things get better from here?

do things get better from here?

things do get better--but not instantaneously! ;)

Rock bottom?

I hope so.

(Love the epigraph. Just re-read The Great Gatsby for my exams. Forgot how sad and lonely a book it is.)

Wow. Just noticed your music selection. If any rendering of any song were more apropos....

But I can't help feeling just a little hope in Johnny's voice in the last line. It's barely there, mostly contained in the lyric and not the delivery, but if it could be done again... I would find a way.

This is such an excellent series. Can't say that often enough.

Greetings!

Yes, indeed, a time for self-reflection if there ever was one. Glad they each saw the light and decided to stay.

I'm not really surprised that Wilson is the one that starts to go through w/it. As House said to the mother in MLC, living through the kind of interestingnesses that the two of them have to makes you strong. And Wilson, for all he has to do, to stand between, for his patients' well-being, I don't think has that kind of toughness.

Beautiful, powerful, heart-wrenching... must go forth and find out what happens next.

Reading on,
-Katrina

PS - Also find the yin and yang interesting - one plans, one doesn't, one starts to go through w/it, one doesn't... and chosen very IC as to who is who... yes, they are indeed reflections of the same whole. -K

Okay, I'm a little freaked out. I decided to read this series again. (It's as good as I remember it.) I got to this installment and read the F. Scott Fitzgerald quote at the top of the page and looked at my clock. It was 3:12 am.
